In 1991-1996, This writer developed a private practice, Marilyn Christopherson & Associates,
in another state to help private citizens address and manage their anger and responses.
As individuals learned and applied specifically taught strategies, growth and development occurred and marriages were saved. The effectiveness of the program grew and gained a reputation in the community. The court judges heard about the effectiveness of the services available and invited this writer to be trained and become a domestic violence treatment provider for incarcerated detainees. As a result, all participant’s in the subsequent treatment program became more accountable for their words and actions, family outbursts and abuse was reduced, the recidivism rate with those inmates participating in this treatment program was reduced.
This writer is a State Certified Domestic Violence Treatment Provider.
